Excursions into American Art and Music
Live @ the Peacock Room

Peacock Room –1321 North Mills

When: The event/exhibit
will officially open on Saturday, November
3rd, 2012 with a VIP Reception from 8 to 9p.m. Admission to the art reception
is FREE. Following the opening viewing there will be live music, raffles and
JUG-ly antics. $5 door charge after 9pm. A portion of the admission proceeds
will be donated to the charities of choice to purchase scholarships. The show
will be viewable with pieces available for sale until November 29, 2012.
What: Handcrafted Americana
Art. To include but not limited to, Jug pottery, woodworking, painting and
creative multi-medium sculpture. The
purpose of this event is to showcase the American Craftsmen (and woman). Jug-ly Art and Antic’s purpose is to bring
attention to American Crafts-people, folk artists and musicians, while brining
awareness to the needs of the underserved creative youth in our community by
supporting their endeavors in the arts and literary expression.
Event & Festivities:
Art Opening 8-9pm-Free. $5 admission charge after 9pm for Live music performances
by The Bloody Jug Band and other special
guests.
Entry Deadline: submission
form and art must arrive no later than Friday, October 26th, 2012.
Commission: There will
be a 50% commission on all sales attributed to a built-in Charity Donation, and
to cover the administration costs of this project. If an artist wishes to
donate a greater % of the sale of their piece to the charities, it is at their
own discretion (100% donations are always appreciated). The charities are;
- Crealdé
School of Art; a community-based
non-profit art organization, which features an affordable curriculum of over
100 studio courses in painting and drawing, photography, jewelry, and ceramics
and sculpture.
***Donations will fund several scholarships to allow under-served youth to
participate in Art/Pottery classes.

reading and writing education for all students living and attending public
schools in Orlando, Florida.
***Donations
will fund several scholarships for the 2013 Youth Writing Camp.
*Note:
non-profit donation forms will be available for any art donated at 100%.
Entry Procedure
The artist(s) shall commit to this project by
contacting the organizers in advance of the drop/delivery deadline. The artist
shall be responsible for shipping cost for all art delivered (if applicable).
The show/project will cover cost of shipping (at the most economical rate) on
the return of any unsold art at the conclusion of the show unless other
arrangements are made.

you supply a short artist bio or statement with the attached submission form.
